As life changes, that doesn’t mean your love for adventure and being outdoors has to. Caitlin and Jiro’s Yosemite maternity portraits were more than just maternity photos. We experienced growth, adventure, and peace while exploring the park. As a Yosemite photographer, the overwhelming magnitude of beauty and calmness in the park never gets old. When Caitlin and Jiro reached out to have me tag along on their Yosemite babymoon and take some photos, I couldn’t say yes quickly enough!

A Peaceful Day in the Park

These two were adorable. The amount of love and respect felt between them was so special. Sometimes, when working with new clients, it can take a while to open up and get comfortable with one another; after discussing their exciting news – we just clicked. Throughout our consultations and chatting with Caitlin and Jiro in the park, they didn’t want traditional maternity photos. They wanted scenery and wide shots of them during their babymoon in Yosemite. I was thrilled to connect with kindred spirits who valued the beauty in Yosemite and chose to celebrate their upcoming life changes here. It was truly special.

They stayed in Yose for their babymoon, and Caitlin did one of the bigger hikes the day after our shoot! She is a rockstar and is going to be the best mom. We opted for more cozy vibes and staying true to their relationship and overall vibe. Jiro was so attentive to Caitlin throughout the session; he’s incredible.

A Private Picnic – Yosemite Maternity Portraits

Caitlin and Jiro are some of the most down-to-earth and kind people I’ve met. They both love simplicity and a slower-paced lifestyle. After we explored the park for a while, they set up a cute little picnic, where they used handmade mugs and drank hot cocoa and whiskey for Jiro. They snugged in a blanket and reminisced on the past year and what was coming. Caitlin and Jiro both decided to keep the baby’s gender a surprise, which made the whole day that much more exciting!

I cannot wait to see these two become parents and raise an adventuring little kid. These Yosemite maternity portraits were a dream session for me, and I can’t wait to head back into the park.
